Over the past year, our manufacturing output increased by 22%, yet our carbon emissions rose by only 45% (from 3,658 tCO₂e to 5,305 tCO₂e), a significantly lower increase than expected. This reflects our commitment to energy efficiency and responsible environmental management.
We are dedicated to environmental sustainability, continuously minimising our impact through resource optimisation and emissions reduction. We recognise the challenges of climate change and integrate sustainability into our core operations to build resilience and drive long-term growth. Our ISO14001-certified Environmental Management System (EMS) ensures we follow best practices in monitoring and reducing our footprint. Beyond compliance, we actively invest in renewable energy, reduce waste, and enhance resource efficiency, embedding sustainability into every aspect of our business for a greener future.

Sustainability Progress: Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
At Pal International, we are dedicated to continuous improvement in environmental sustainability, aligning our operations with best practices while ensuring efficiency and growth. Our key performance indicators (KPIs) reflect our achievements, challenges, and ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, enhance energy efficiency, and drive sustainable innovation.
Energy & Resource Management
- Gas consumption increased by 18 percent, reflecting expanded production capacity while maintaining energy efficiency initiatives.
- Electricity consumption saw a modest rise of 2 percent, demonstrating our ability to optimise power usage despite increased manufacturing output.
- Water consumption rose by 10 percent to 2,437 cubic metres, with ongoing conservation measures in place.
Carbon Reduction & Waste Management
- Fleet sustainability is a major milestone, with 100 percent of our fleet now fully electric, significantly reducing transport emissions.
- Zero waste to landfill remains a core commitment, ensuring all waste is either recycled or repurposed.
- Total waste management increased by 24 percent, from 115 to 142 tonnes, aligned with higher production levels. The breakdown includes:
- General waste: 90 tonnes
- Recycled waste: 45.5 tonnes, including:
- Paper and board recycling decreased by 31 percent to 4.5 tonnes, as we focus on reducing overall paper use.
- Plastic recycling increased significantly by 86 percent to 30 tonnes, reinforcing our commitment to responsible material usage.
- Pallet recycling decreased by 68 percent to 11 tonnes, presenting an opportunity for further optimisation.
- Hazardous waste: 7 tonnes, managed in line with strict compliance standards.
Sustainable Sourcing & Community Impact
- Supplier environmental certifications continue to strengthen, with 33 percent of our raw material suppliers holding ISO14001 certification, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable sourcing.
- Community and charitable support remains a priority, with donations of lab equipment to schools and PPE kits and wipes to Inter Care, supporting healthcare and education initiatives.
